I promised I'd post about this event (having seen it advertised here by the redoubtable anteros_lmc). There's a lot to report and time's on short commons so I'll be doing a series of three or four posts at my LJ, which I'll cross post here. The first one is up.

Last week nodbear and I posted the story of a mutiny that took place on the West Indies Station in 1806. The ship was the sloop Ferret, captain the Honorable George Cadogan. Charles Miller Ltd, the auctioneers who sold Temeraire's ensign and Marryat's telescope last year, have another sale coming up that includes a whole range of fascinating naval and maritime artefacts including this caricature of the quarterdeck before battle.
