I've just posted a short review of the National Museum of Scotland's event Cochrane in Fact and Fiction over at my LJ. The event featured two lectures; David Cordingly, author and naval historian, summarised Cochrane's naval career, the impact of his conviction for stock market fraud and his lasting legacy in Latin American, and Stuart Allen, Senior Curator of Military History at the museum, presented a highly entertaining romp through Cochrane's impact on historical naval fiction.
