Author’s Notes: A remix/continuation of sorts of teh_elb’s marvelous crossover ficlet Les Yeux, which features Major Ducos from the Sharpe series (sometimes described as Stephen’s evil twin). I hope you don’t mind. Earlier this year it occurred to me that at the same time that Stephen was giving his address Colonel Colquhoun Grant, one of Wellington’s key Exploring Officers, was living in Paris under an assumed identity. The fic very much happened from there on. (Also, the line of dialogue in italics is directly from TSM.)
