Summary: Yoochun and Junsu, 2 famous idols (who by the way aren’t the best of friends in the world), are bound by a contract which dictates them to act as a couple. Sure, this boosts their popularity as intended…but what if love, something that wasn’t actually planned and prepared for, comes into the equation?
Trailer+Prologue Chap 1 Chap 2 Chap 3 Chap 4 Chap 5 Chap 6 Chap 7 Chap 8 Chap 9Junsu stared at the clouds that drifted by the small window beside him on the plane, effectively blocking out the subtle cries of the child in front of them, and his manager’s light snores at his side.
Right now all that Junsu could think of is the contract, and Yoochun.
He was thinking so deeply about it that he was unable to sleep for the whole flight, staying bothered until they reached Japan.
As they touched down, his manager was alive again and was briefing him on his activities for the next 2 weeks.
“Tomorrow you have an interview, then a radio show, 2 interviews, and then we’ll check the concert area. If the stage is already up, you’ll have some practice there. Then after that…”
His manager went on and on, and the only thing that remained on Junsu’s head was how many interviews they were going to do. He was almost sure that 90% or more of those interviews would ask about Yoochun, and Junsu was quite worried about it, now that everything was going pitch black in their relationship…if there’s anything left of the relationship.

“How are you and Park Yoochun-sshi?”
There goes the first question about Yoochun.
“We’re okay, I guess.”
It was left at that since the interviewer noticed that there was some awkwardness, but to Junsu’s dismay in his next activity, a radio show, he was asked about Yoochun again.
“Now, a source told us that you fought with your boyfriend, Yoochun recently. Is that true? If yes, what did you quarrel about?”
Please, one question by one.
Junsu resisted the urge to scoff in annoyance.
“Well there’s no relationship that goes smoothly, and we’re no exception…we just have small fights here and there, and they can be quite childish…but I don’t think it’s any harm to have something you disagree about.
Phew subject successfully changed. It’s not like Junsu can tell them that they had a big fight anyway.
They had a break as songs were aired, and Junsu was having a hard time acting. Plain interviews were easy to do since they just record you and end things, but for radio shows you have to talk to the hosts even when you’re not on air…plus he can’t always keep on going to the restroom to avoid conversation.
“Is it difficult to have a relationship with an idol?”
Junsu secretly clenched his fist.
“It’s hard since we’re both idols, and idols really spend a lot of time doing activities, so it’s not like we can see each other much.”
The female host praised, “Admirable, right? I support you guys, I’m a really big fan! I hope your relationship goes well from here on.”
Junsu just smiled, but deep within, he felt bad for this woman…he wondered if she’d be sad is she learns that they’re “breaking up” soon.
Junsu occupied himself with work all day, in order to keep thoughts on Yoochun away…but unfortunately Yoochun keeps on getting brought up if not by hosts, by curious staff members.
He slumped on the bed right after a shower, his head almost hitting his composition notebook he threw on the pillow when they arrived previously.
Because he had nothing he really needed to do, he opened it while trying to remember the last time he composed a song.
He brought out his phone and opened a piano app.
He hummed away into the night, pressing keys and writing notes from time to time, until he fell deeply asleep.
~.~.~.~.~.
Junsu has been in Japan for 2 weeks now, and rumors are starting to spread that he and Yoochun had a fight, which might mark the end of their relationship.
Junsu tried to answer questions in a very neutral manner, but once interviews were starting to inquire him more, he asked his manager to advise all the producers they’ll be working with for promotions not to tackle his love life.
The singer sat on his bed, after he was given a 1-hour break fix up time before they fly to Osaka for more promotions.
He opened his messy suitcase, starting to organize whatever things he stuffed inside when they left Korea.
Upon opening one pocket, he sees an old notebook he’s probably had since elementary.
Curious, he grabbed the notebook and opened it carefully, scanning through the pages.
In one of the wrinkly pages, he saw a scribbled checklist.
Junsu chuckled, as he looked at the checklist he’s made ages ago, before he learned about Yunho and Junho’s relationship.
It only had three items on it.
Junsu turned the pages, and spotted the newer checklist, one that he’s done when he was in the showbiz industry…what used to be 3 items became 10, a checklist he’s been using until recently…he even remembers teasing Yoochun with it.
Junsu frowned, calling himself foolish for remembering something (someone) he didn’t want to think about.
Because he was bored, he took his pen out and started using the checklist on Yoochun.
One by one, he crossed every item out.
- Healthy (He has asthma)
- Shares many similarities with me (Yoochun and I don’t have a lot in common)
- Fearless (Afraid of heights)
- Has Abs (Flat stomach)
- Good European Accent (Can’t even pronounce Bonjour properly)
- Tall (Just an inch taller than me)
- A good cook (He can only cook instant food)
- Sporty (Yoochun doesn’t play any sport)
- Handsome eater (He makes funny faces when he eats)
- Plays an instrument
Junsu sighed, concluding that Yoochun really wasn’t the man of his dreams.
Junsu lay back, remembering why he had a checklist in the first place.
Those were all the things people wanted from him…and that was the truth.
For years after his debut he tried to fulfil all the audience’s requests…without fail, he reads feedback on him and his activities every time he’s free.
Shortly after his debut, Junsu realized that in order to stay popular, he needs to reach the public’s demands.
He remembered sitting down with the computer on, listing down all the stuff that people wanted of him.
Junsu laughed at how pathetic he was.
Since then he started working out, fixing his western accent, fixed everything about himself to please others…and the things on the checklist that he couldn’t do or be, he hoped that his future partner would have in order to complete him…it was the ideal plan…but what he wanted was too perfect, too good to become a reality.
Junsu ran a hand through his hair. If it had been in the past, he would have hated Yoochun for being the complete opposite of his ideal man.
But now, Junsu was afraid that sometimes it was he himself who insisted that Yoochun wasn’t bad.
He picked up the notebook again, turning back to the checklist he had when he wasn’t plagued by fan’s comments yet.
- Funny
Hard to admit, but even if Yoochun had the lamest jokes to tell, the guy still managed to make Junsu laugh.
- Thoughtful
Junsu brought himself back to the time when they were talking in his apartment…and Junsu thought that Yoochun was really thoughtful for cheering him up.
- Loves me for who I am
Junsu dropped the notebook.
This is the end, I won’t ever see you again, he writes.
Yes, after we finish filming the last 2 episodes of the drama…we’ll only see each other through broadcasts.
It really hurts, it’s really hard…
It would be the end of everything.
I’m drenched with our past memories
Once again, I get lost in my memories
and break down - what do I do?
Junsu held his head with his palm.
What do I do…what do I do?
Tears ran down his cheeks, and he’s afraid he knows why.
