I recently finished a week's worth of self-introducing to the new year of first-year students. Afterwards, I encouraged students to write down questions for me on a piece of paper and turn them in. I just finished watching Millennium Actress, the new movie from Satoshi Kon, director of Perfect Blue. I enjoyed Perfect Blue a lot, especially as a subversion of traditional anime chipperness. The new mix of Guitar Freaks (9th) came out this past weekend. This mix seems to be one of the better ones; I recognize a number of the songs right off the bat.
