i bet you thought i'd forgotten about you

Toma runs into Maki at the bar around the corner from the precinct. It makes sense for her to be there, yeah, since she just graduated from the academy, but Toma didn't think he'd ever catch her there alone. Maki's not a big party person, but she's not a loner; if she's alone, she's probably that way on purpose. That's why he doesn't go over right away.

She sees him though, and waves him over to her table, so he drops his messenger bag on the table top and slides into the chair next to her.

"It's been a while," Toma greets her.

"Yeah, it has," Maki says, flagging down a server. Toma orders a beer, and once it arrives, he turns back to Maki.

"So what's up? You're not a drinking alone type."

Maki sighs, eyes suddenly focused on her mug as she fidgets with it. "I sent everyone home, told them I was fine," she says. She looks up at him suddenly. "I am fine, for the record ( ... )

I love how these two lines alone are so indicative of both Maki and Toma as people. ;O;

Heero Yui, Perfect Idol: parte Deux anamuan March 8 2011, 01:12:15 UTC
"Heero Yuy-kun?" a man asks from the doorway. He's wearing approximately half am ostrich stitched to his plaid jacket. Heero scowls at him. He backs up a step. Heero smiles. He's scary, ok. That's how the world should be. None of this glitter and 'look appealing, Heero' business.

"Ah, Heero Yuy-kun desu yo ne," the man says, nodding to himself. "I think I know," and here he falters, unsure what to say, "Your, your uncle." He settles on finally. He says it with a strange emphasis, and Heero realizes he means the scientist who acts as his handler. Heero blinks. Well, he's not exactly stealthy, but Heero can see why he'd make a good agent. Even with the sparkly turkey on, he's just so futsuu"Ah," Heero says, which translates roughly to 'Yes, I know who you are now. Please continue: the mission. Tell me all you have found about corporate finances and whether or not they're funneling money to OZ ( ... )

a;skdas your heero is perfect.

"ah"

it's one word yet it conveys so many different things. he manages to make it carry so many layers of meaning. I THINK I AM A BIT DAZZLED

also, your introduction of SO ZENZEN FUTSUU MR. AWFUL SPY nakamaru into the plot is very clever-- it's hard to tell if he's just a sempai at the agency offering the noob some friendly advice, or if he really is the agent heero thinks he is. i'm sure all will be revealed in due time~

a snuggle with arthur/eames (1/2) anamuan March 8 2011, 01:16:16 UTC
For someone as handsy as Eames, he's remarkably reticent about snuggling. It's not that he dislikes it, so much as it's that he's learned to say away from it. Just in case. Arthur attributes it to the rather more criminal company he keeps. Nothing like a couple of lone sharks in a row to make you a little leery of extraneous touching. Or you know, human company. Only the figurative jackals try to kneecap you.

Arthur, however, needs some serious cuddling in his personal life. He'd once read a study that said humans need something like eight "significant touches" a day to be at their peak emotionally. Good emotional health is intrinsic to maximizing productivity. It makes sense. You can't be on top of your professional game until you've got all your personal shit squared away.

Arthur isn't huge on touching though. He's not a casual hugger, or a back clapper, or whatever it is that more touchy-feely types get off on all the time. He's always liked to keep his physical contact confined to the people he actually likes (which, maybe ( ... )

Household chores, on the other hand, are often ideal cuddle opportunities. Doing the dishes, for example, keeps Eames relatively stationary, making it easy for Arthur to slide up behind him and slip his arms around his waist. Dish washing takes relatively little concentration, but does require a certain amount of personal application to finish, so Eames is unlikely to try to divert the cuddling into more amorous activities since he knows he'd just have to go back to finishing the dishes afterward. If Eames has a tendency to get frisky just after finishing the dishes, well, Arthur doesn't have any personal complaints about that ( ... )
