Slicing your fingers open on toffee: Best injury or worst injury?

1. I just basically ate a pile of fruit for dinner. NO REGRETS.

2. Salting caramels when you have cuts on your fingers kind of really freaking hurts.

I love my job to almost ridiculous levels, but man, it's nice to have a day off. Monday was absolutely nuts, and that did not set a good precedent for the rest of the week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it keeps raining because a) RAIN! and b) That will hopefully keep it from getting too crazy over the weekend. Sanity, I need it ( Read more... )

Metric Pastry Cook: I made Alibi a sandwich, but she can't eat it because it's Passover.
Server: You're Jewish?
Me: Yeah.
Server: Let me tell you something: God doesn't give a **** what you eat; eat the sandwich.
Me: I don't believe in God.
Server: ...

I felt bad about the sandwich, though. It looked really good.

In rereading The Lightning Thief (a month and a half later, I am still on Chapter 1), I keep thinking how frustrated Chiron and Grover must be with Percy while they're all still at Yancy.
