Try as you might, you can't fathom why the people won't wake up. Random strangers, people you know, perhaps a player that had joined your party at some time; all of them in a deep sleep. No matter what happens around them, they just continue to sleep. Then again, such a deep sleep couldn't be normal...

Richter walked through town looking more than a little annoyed. People - no, not just any individual, those like him who were not from this World - were falling unconscious left and right. He held his Relic in his hand, making sure to keep an eye on the forums to see if there was anyone else that had any idea what was happening. If not, then at least he could try to use it to keep track of who was awake and who had fallen.

"There must be some reason behind this..."

Though he was from a world that was wrought with magic and mystical creatures, Richter knew - perhaps better than most people - that there was always a logical reason behind what happened. The half-elf reached up to rub his temple irritably; he was getting nowhere with this (how he missed the library at Sybak now).

Asking around may be the only course of action left to him. He knew of no library here in Mac Anu and Richter doubted he'd come across and epiphany out in the fields. Time to bite back his cold personality for a second to try and find some answers.

Cloud scowled as he stalked towards the outskirts of the town. It was quiet. Too quiet. While he normally LIKED peace and quiet, this was just creepy now. Of course there were the NPCs, but Cloud had quickly figured out they weren't too helpful.

He kicked a random rock on the ground as he thought about what to do next. May be he should move on to the next place to see if there were any clues on what's going on?

There was something about players that set them apart from NPCs. Perhaps it had to do with how they moved or acted; the NPCs were borderline uncanny at times. Richter didn't pick up on the fact that another player was uncomfortably wandering the town until he walked straight past...

It took a couple of seconds before the red head turned around to call out to the blonde.

"You. You got out of this unscathed?" Whatever this was, at least.

The Lost Ones have woken up for a few hours only to fall back into their comas. It seems the symptoms are the same as it was before but did you manage to glean any useful information from them while they were awake?

And again, the GMs are still nowhere to be found.

Albel had woken up for a few hours and while Fayt knew it would most likely end up futile, he had tried to get a decent conversation with the cranky Elicoorian. Not... the most successful of tactics. The Earthling had been left with more questions than answers.

"Just what is happening?" Fayt wondered aloud, as he typed up another flashmail to one of the GMs. Because if they had no answer to this mystery, then who would?

Or maybe he was just looking in all the wrong places. He could always form a party to go and see if there was any information to be gained from the fields...

"They're not going to respond, you know..."

Suddenly, a voice from behind! ...And a rather chilling one, at that.

But the awkward middle-schooler had been watching people pull out their Relics and typing frantic messages for a couple of days now, to no avail. May as well get this guy to quit while he was ahead... hmm, and that typing style seemed very familiar, somehow. Which meant that he was close enough to read it. Just how long had Kageno been standing there, anyway...?

Fayt almost jumped out of his skin when Kageno appeared behind him. Really! You'd think after having met so many different people, the blue haired student would be more used to being snuck up on. Apparently not.

"Whoa-!" he spun around, Relic still in hand because he had grown used to having to hold onto his weapon during... Well, during any sort of distraction in battle. It was a skill that was very handy here in The World if his recent encounters with other players were any indication.

"Well, if they are suppose to be GMs, they should be responding." Fayt replied, still slightly off due to the surprise and the new confusion in regards to Kageno's appearance. Hair over their eyes? Was looking like someone out of a psychological-horror the new fad?

He'd been away from Earth too long.

Another few hours spent trying to interrogate the Lost ones may have helped the players figure out what was happening. Maybe it is just a matter of connecting the dots...

By now there should be enough information to figure out what was happening. But more importantly were the reactions of the Lost Ones. Where they had all been sleeping peacefully now they were tossing and turning; had their dreams turned into a nightmare?

Again, the only thing left for those awake was to wait...

Asleep again.

And not in the good way, either, it seemed. As if Leviathan didn't have enough to worry about already with the situation the way it was going. Harpuia didn't make any sense when he was awake, so it still felt as if she was at square one in this whole ordeal.

So, with not much to do other than wait for him to wake again, Leviathan paces their @home room restlessly, mulling over whatever she could again and again. She wished the damn place had a maintenance pool, but noooo. And the Mac Anu water... she didn't even want to think about that. The stress only served to cloud her mind further.

And this room-- so stifling. On the one hand, she didn't want to leave, in case Harpuia were to wake again-- on the other, the four walls around her were driving her mad. Four walls, four beds-- one never used, and slowly filling up with plush dolls-- another, with its occupant tossing about every so often-- a third that looked considerably slept in though the owner seemingly hadn't been around in days and a fourth, recently made, and ( ... )

The walls may have been boxing her in -- but what about the door? Especially as that door has apparently decided it wanted to open of its own accord.

Or perhaps the coal-haired figure on the other side has something to do with it?

"You still pace at the same tempo. I can hear you outside."

There was a slight clatter from the girl's heels as she stopped abruptly, shaken from her pacing by that familiar voice once more. Leviathan turned towards the door; it was still a shock to see someone who had been, effectively, long dead to her, standing there as good as new. ...Well, as 'good as new' one could be when forced into a different sort of biology altogether.

How very strange this place was.

"Phantom...! Jeez, you can't ever greet someone like a normal person, can you?"

The Lost Ones fell asleep again after another few hours spent awake but there was something wrong this time around. Instead of sleeping peacefully like they did before, it appeared as if they were experiencing a nightmare. Though you try, it doesn't appear that anything will help your friend/family/comrade... The only thing left for you to do is to sit and wait.

Eventually, those affected wakes up; took them long enough. Perhaps a proper explanation for what happened is due. Or maybe everyone will settle on being relieved that things are back to normal. Either way, when someone turns to look out a window, they'll be greeted with the sight of white flakes drifting down onto the streets below.

It's snowing in the Eternal City...
