I got to help release two birds today. They were both Red-shouldered Hawks, and one of them was special enough to get a name. It was Eggman because our vet had to help him out of his egg. CRC got a cute new owl that came in yesterday. It's another Eurasian Eagle Owl, and it blinked a lot when I went to see it. I also watched the intake exam, and that was a very calm bird. It didn't struggle or scream at all ( Read more... )

I forgot to post yesterday. CRC has an incredibly cute turkey vulture named Sherlock. His cage is on the other side of the duplex from Guilford the Barred Owl, who I clean. It's also next to Bob O's. Dudley was so sweet today. He was so sad-acting this morning. There was a program off-site, and he didn't get to go. He has favorite people, and one of them is Jim who did that program. I had an audience for my waters on the display trail. The people on the trail got to hear Lady Wilma the Kestrel yell at me today. Dudley was cute yesterday at CRC. He was hooting. He always hoots when more than one person is near his cage talking. He hears them and wants to talk too. I wasn't too bad in the volunteer room. I've had bad insomnia the past couple nights, and this morning my dog had to wake me up at 5:30 to go out. I didn't fall asleep until 2:00 so too little sleep. She was able to wait yesterday. I don't know why she had to wake me up so early today ( Read more... )
