I've been too tired and preoccupied to post recently. Last weekend I went with a friend to the Outer Banks and camped. I was already beached out, but I went anyway. I went back to CRC for the first time today since getting sick. I've missed my owls, and I was happy to see them today. I also got to see Puck who was in a kennel in the RBC room. He was very chirpy today. Cleaning was hard and got me winded because I've gotten used to not doing anything. I still have gunk in my lungs and inflammation. I'm on ( Read more... )

I have had a sinus infection that I am finally getting over, but I still feel bad from it. I've also eaten too much sugar, and I've probably gained back the four pounds I had lost since Thanksgiving. I've felt too crappy to exercise with headaches and all that ( Read more... )

I have the sneezes pretty bad right now. I think the leaves I had to rake in the Barred Owl cage got it started. I filled 8 grocery bags with leaves just in there and one in Bob O's cage too. I had to make several trips back to rehab to get more bags. I'm using a garbage bag for leaves next week. My dad and I took a nice hike after I finished ( Read more... )

Dad and I went to Lake Norman State Park on Tuesday, and we took Dixie with us. It was really nice camping, but I got eaten up by noseeums. I itch today. We took a long hike on Tuesday afternoon, but other than a couple squirrels, we didn't see any animal life. I had hoped to see at least one Osprey along the lake. The Barred Owls are in their new huge cage, and cleaning it is quite a job. The three that were in the old cage are joined by two others. In a way it's easier to clean because it's big, and I can move around without getting pooped on or attacked or getting into an owl's space. I still do Bob O's cage too. Dudley was really cute today when I visited him after cleaning all my cages. He was hooting and making a funny little squawk. I've heard him squawk before, but he rarely does it. The other imprinted Great Horned Owls squawk a lot more than he does. Also Beatrice hooted at me, and that's the first time I've heard her hoot. She normally is quiet ( Read more... )
