[Roxas and Sora || The days we break]

Where? Radiant Garden
When? AU in which Sora never merged with Roxas. (Takes place after the adventure funtiems and possession logs).

[Radiant Garden is a sight for sore eyes, and as Sora lands the gummi ship and steps out into the open air, it's hard to believe there's even anything wrong. It's just like any other time he's come here: same city, same heartless, same greetings from Leon, Yuffie and Aerith.
What's different though, is the way that the heartless don't even seem to notice him. They peer at him with inquisitive eyes, and slide past, only stopping to fight him when he summons his keyblade. What's different is the curious look that Aerith seems to give him when he turns to leave, and the pat on the shoulder from Leon, "You all right?" It's nothing too damning, and their concerns are easily dismissed when Sora gives them a wide grin and a smart remark.
They tell him that Roxas has come home just a few hours prior from his mission, and is actually waiting for Sora at the house. He smiles, tells them thanks. And he carefully makes his way down the cobblestone streets, memorizing the way it feels to walk of his own accord, to hold the keyblade with his own two hands, to tear into the heartless by choice. Especially since this may be the last chance he has.
And when he finishes the last of the heartless wandering outside, he makes his way to the door and knocks. He doesn't realize he's holding his breath.]
