It had been going on for a while, ever since they'd returned home from that...horrific incident in which Sora lost his own heart. Again. But... even though he knew it was bound to happen after he noticed how close he was to slipping off the edge, nothing could ever have prepared him for just how much it hurt to be within the same room as Kairi.
Which is why he had fled here - to his old room - while his husband and wife rested. Well, while their wife slept and Sora pretended to rest. Riku couldn't bear it... to let them know just how far he'd fallen, or let them see him break down like he was doing right now, hugging his knees close to his chest as he sobbed bitterly. How could he have let himself slip so far after all he'd done to maintain the balance not just within himself, but the worlds as well?
So he had pretended to head to the bathroom, though he hadn't really used it due to not eating much for so long, then used the corridors . All he knew was that it stung, and that grip was getting even tighter since he'd used the corridors to arrive here - to Maleficent's former castle within Radiant Garden. No one would bother him here or, so he hoped, as he curled up on the bed last used by a girl he could barely remember...
