How is it that I've been home for a week and I'm just now posting about my vacation to Chicago? Time for some stories!

I got back from my Colorado road trip late Monday night. I was sad for it to be over, but I'm also glad to come home and be with my bed and my TV and my computer again. I really missed LiveJournal. Time for an obnoxiously long update! (I tried to finish this on Tuesday, but got distracted by Sherlock again.)

( So this is what I did on my four-day road trip )

The regional conference for Alpha Phi Omega is this weekend, in northern Colorado. I have to leave very early Friday morning to drive there (14+ hours) with four other girls. We'll be staying at the house of some brother in the host chapter, which will probably be crowded, but hey, it's free. We'll be settling in on Friday night, going to workshops ( Read more... )

Today is America's birthday. The sign on Family Video says so. I ate barbeque, which I do every week, and took a long walk around my neighborhood, which I do every night, but this time there were fireworks. And when I had to go to work it was time and a half pay ( Read more... )

It's been a nice week. I bought some new bras while they were on sale at work. I cleaned some of my room out so it's not quite as cramped with stuff from my dorm. (That's the basement's job now.) Spent the day at grandma's on Wednesday, read the whole second half of Chamber of Secrets while I was there.

I had a pretty fantastic day on Saturday. James and I and his friend Erick went down to the Loop for the Ice Carnival, when all the stores have ice sculptures and little games out front. I didn't have a team when I showed up at the MMOSH IX kickoff, so I walked around with an "adopt me" sign. My old friend Ashley Lynn took me in, and I was a hobo no more. I've had very little time on the computer this week because my dad tore down our shed and is building a new one, and he needs help. This week, I've had to strip paint off of an old metal door, haul lumber and plywood and shingles, break up the rock pile, cart all the pieces of the old shed out to the dumpster we rented, and brave the sun and heat ( Read more... )

Yesterday, mom and dad went to visit my grandparents and my brother had a graduation party to go to, so it looked like I was going to be left at home by myself all day.
