It's been a nice week. I bought some new bras while they were on sale at work. I cleaned some of my room out so it's not quite as cramped with stuff from my dorm. (That's the basement's job now.) Spent the day at grandma's on Wednesday, read the whole second half of Chamber of Secrets while I was there.
Wednesday night I got the call about a midnight MMOSH meeting at Kevin's house. My parents were already asleep, and I've never left the house without telling them before, but I didn't want to wake them up because they go to work very early in the morning. So I just wrote a note, instructed James to notify mom when she woke up because James stays up the whole night anyway, and left with the guys. David got pulled over for speeding just two minutes from my house, but he came out of it alright. He was stopped in the 711 parking lot, so I got to go inside and buy a Slurpee and these hot-dog flavored potato chips that are actually delicious. Turns out Kevin's house is out in St. Charles, which isn't too far, but was a little unnerving when it's the middle of the night and nobody has specifically told me where we're going and we just keep driving. So it was Kevin and his girlfriend, David and his girlfriend, Tom and his wife Kristen, Bobby Sanders, and me, in Kevin's living room drinking tea and eating fruit salad and working on the list. We went through all of David's suggestions and all eleven pages of contributions from the Facebook group, so we have a good start to the list itself. We did a lot of planning for kick-off and rendezvous too. The night before, everyone is sleeping in Kevin's basement (which is huge), then he's waking us up at 4:00 am to feed us breakfast. Everyone that is a driver will have their own team and they'll pick them "dodgeball-style", which is that they'll call names out of the big group of us that aren't driving. We mingle with our new teams, get the lists, and dash off. Throughout the day the organizers will send out text messages with meet-ups and new challenges. Since we're starting early, rendezvous will be in the afternoon instead of late at night, and we're thinking of a BBQ/concert/beauty pageant. We don't have a definite date yet, but it'll probably be sometime in mid-to-late July. I'm really excited.
I didn't get back home until 6:30 am. I only let myself sleep until 11:30 because I feel bad sleeping the whole day. So I got up, took a shower, did laundry and dishes, helped James with his resume for his job search. I got called in to work from 6-10, and mom and I got McDonalds after that. Happy Meals have Pokemon toys now!
Saturday Sam, Sean, and I went to the City Museum because, for all the times he's visited, he hadn't been there yet. So we explored the caves and Beatnik Bob's and looked at the galleries of architecture and preserved animals. We ate a whole pizza and spent an hour in the craft lady's room making punched copper tiles and paper snowflakes.
Today I took Aidan to the mall and we played air hockey and mini-golf. He beat me at both.
