I guess it's more of an "is there that one" and I doubt I'll get an answer (because I'm not sure it exists) but is there any language in which the syllable "sy" is pronounced "shi"? I know that Sy is an alternate spelling of a Chinese character pronounced "see", but I need the h sound in there.

I'm looking for a saying that has the same meaning as "I might have been born...but I wasn't born yesterday." That doesn't really make a lot of sense, and the saying I'm grasping for is either the same one said better, or a different one altogether that gets across the same idea. Thanks for your help!
