A piece of choral music

In 1996 or 1997, when I was in a small inter-school SATB choir in Sydney, we started learning a piece but never finished it, I think because it was too hard for us. I'd love to find it and try singing it again.

What I recall:

- It was a modern piece, with every voice part (I'm pretty sure there were more than 3 parts, but I don't know how many exactly), at least at the start, doing odd little jerky repeated phrases with weird timing - not intuitive at all, thus the difficulty level.

- It was in 8/8, but the time signature actually said 3+3+2/8.

- I'm pretty certain it was unaccompanied.

- It was apparently designed so that the whole thing would sound like birdsong.

- I'm not sure what language it was in, or even if it was in a real language at all; it may have been just nonsense syllables. I'm fairly sure it wasn't in English.

- For some reason I associate it with Brazil.

Thanks!
