In Budapest we lived near National museum. Very close to it is situated small Dohanyi street which is dominated by big synagogue. According to the Hungarian touristic sources this is the second largest synagogue in the world:

It is for sure that the building of Hungarian parliament is the best known sign of this city. But I was surprised that all three projects - participants of the competition to design Hungarian parliament building - were realized in the same place. At the end of XIXth century capitalism in the leading European countries of the period reached the point which one Frenchmen called "highest point of artistic perversity". Some rather utilitarian buildings were built as palaces or something like that. May I ask you what is the purpose of this "palace" in Budapest ?

I am back at home from Hungary. 10 years from my last visit to this country is the perfect time to see and to evaluate those big changes happening in this region.
