New Year celebrations are over and let me start the first bigger report in 2012. With this report I am starting several reports series about southern French city Nimes. Being last may in Šilutė I for the first time visited the suburban village of this town - Macikai (located about 2 km away from Šilutė). This was and is very ordinary village known only as the birthplace of German writer Hermann Sudermann (one of two most famous German writers born in Memel land). First of all I need to say that I never was in Donbass so the name for this report was chosen only as the symbol of once industrialized and very important region with now lost it's previous importance and now is struggling and trying to live in new conditions.
