Drove to nearby big town- 50 km each way, for dental appt, car repair (recall work and fix seatbelts), a bit of shopping. Left here at 1pm, back home 6 hours later. Achieved: found garden sprinkler, screen door thingys, sun shade for camping next week, yogurt, fabric (which I really didn't need), gas tank straps replaced. Not done: dental work- ( Read more... )

Three cups of Earl Grey hot and I am still not terribly motivated.

Stuff to do:

• Finish quilt
• Clean up bedroom: rearrange clutter
• Work charts and reports
• Tidy kitchen and sort out some meals for the week. Not been eating properly since family left last week.
• Find sink for new bathroom vanity- I think it's in the garage.

I am treating myself to lots of retail therapy in the run up to my trip to Europe. For work, I wear plain grey slacks, a long sleeve t or light jumper with a vest - my pockets for watch, pen etc, overtop. When I get home, jeans and t-shirt/jumper. My finger just slipped and I bought a new camera. Major sale and I didn't have to leave my couch. Cheaper than Amazon USA and free shipping.

I bought a toilet, some tinted moisturiser, a new wallet, christmas cards and a few tops from Value Village. Sales lady re makeup gave me gift with purchase- not sure that I had earned it- free lipstick, eye liner, blush, and face scrub stuff. A good experience for a change. I just bought an ipad. Apple has a sale on $40 dollars off, free shipping and free engraving.

It's been a demanding week work wise. Patient's are very appreciative. Some more sad events. Took two days off to deal with cold - feel tired but stopped coughing, throat/ears feeling better too. I needed a new mattress- badly. When I re-financed my house for the new septic, I added some $ for a few other odds and ends. The bed was delivered on Friday. On Tuesday, I bought a used brass headboard/footboard for $20. Listed my old bed frame for $75 on Wednesday. It sold the same day. Last time I bought wine glasses, late 1998. Jump to today. As I am having more people come for dinner than my present number of wine glasses, I decided to buy some new ones.
