I should know better by now. Any time a DIY project is going smoothly, it's really just waiting for me to let down my guard before it somehow goes south. This one was no exception.

The Project: Put up a closet
Required skills: Measuring, leveling, using a screw driver, possibly installing drywall anchors
Est. Time: 1.5 hours

( How could this possibly go wrong? )

Miome: You know are real problem is not that our studfinder is broken. It's that we can't nail them when we find them.

On discussing the color to put in the dining room:
Tsaiko: I'm sorry, but I refuse to put a color called "burning bush" on the walls in this house. That's just asking for trouble.

Because out fireplace has no mantle and is floor to ceiling stone work, I need to attach two hooks to the ceiling in order to hang anything (like a mirror) over the fireplace.

I am about to type "how do I attach hooks to the ceiling" into google.

I am going to get a lot of really, really interesting hits on this one.

The color I renamed Pound o' Flesh does not work with those thrice damned Ikea cabinets. THIS IS THE THIRD COLOR WE'VE TRIED AGAINST THEM. We got a bunch of sample cards and have settled on another color. We'll repaint the canvas next week and see if we have a winner ( Read more... )
