Tomorrow we fly home and the shuttle is picking us up at 10am so this is really our last day.

We got up and rode the Metro to the corner cafe that had the best coffee we've found. Then we made our way to this big kitchen store, E. Dehillerin. They had rows and rows of unique kitchen stuff. Like this giant pot.

We only have 2 days left in Paris so today was dedicated to shopping. :-)

We started the day at Les Galeries Lafayette, a big, fancy department store. We mostly browsed, because everything is so freakin' expensive. I enjoyed their Gourmet store where you could buy really fancy pastries or Cup o' Noodles for $3.

The name of "Pee Pee Alley" (Phine calls them "stinky steps") is "Passage du Pont aux Biches." Doesn't it sound like "Passage of the Bridge of Bitches?" We go up and down these steps at least twice a day. And I swear they've gotten nastier since we've been here.

Yesterday we took a trip to the 'burbs and after we got back Phine was wired and had a hard time falling asleep so I lay down in bed with her and both of us fell asleep :-) No blogging.

This is my second time in Paris (Mia's 10th). Mia and I were here for 2 weeks in 2001. Sara was in the hospital then and people didn't let us know that she got really sick. Her graft vs. host disease really kicked in and we heard later that it was a real nightmare. But like she always did she pulled through, however a coming out a little worse than ( Read more... )

Yesterday after the letter bomb incident we watched the local news and there was no mention of the bomb at all. Nothing on the Internets either. Just imagine if they detonated a bomb at the Liberty Bell! It would be all over the news for WEEKS! Independence Hall would be shut down for months ( Read more... )
