Misc Stuffs

Yesterday after the letter bomb incident we watched the local news and there was no mention of the bomb at all. Nothing on the Internets either. Just imagine if they detonated a bomb at the Liberty Bell! It would be all over the news for WEEKS! Independence Hall would be shut down for months.

I kept calling this trip "Mia and I pretending to be ex-pats for 2 weeks." We are definitely doing touristy things, but I love how we're just chillin' in our apartment in the Marais. Mia goes out every morning and gets a baguette for breakfast then we go have coffee.

The street we are on has a lot of fabric, shoe and clothing stores. It kinda reminds me of the Lower East Side in NYC. We often take a passage with a long flight of stairs to come and go from our street. We've nick-named it "pee pee alley" because it smells. There are a couple homeless people camped out there. They do seem to hose it down every now and then :-)

Today we did touristy stuff: Tuileries Gardens and Musée de l’Orangerie where we saw Monet's Water Lilies. It was pretty cool and Phine really liked it. That kid actually had a little tantrum when she had to leave "MORE MONET'S WATER LILIES!!!" Crazy.

Rachel was so kind to watch Phine during her nap so Mia and I got to wander around the Marias and the Left Bank. Tonight Rachel is going to watch her again so Mia and I will be able to go on a dinner date!!! Seriously I can't remember the last time Mia and I have gone out to dinner just the 2 of us.
