My hair, or what's left of it, seems to be in a holding pattern for the moment.  It's all wispy and blondish looking, like a newborn baby's hair, and it does little to hide my scalp.  It's odd, but all of my thicker strands of brown hair have fallen out, leaving the thin, light-colored stuff behind ( Read more... )

We had a couple days of very chilly weather, with nighttime temps below freezing. That's not unusual for March, but after weeks of warm weather, I was afraid for the flowers that are now blooming, and for two little rose bushes I just planted. Our dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks neighbor chopped down all the milkweed plants that I’d so carefully tended this year as havens for visiting monarch butterflies. Most of them were on our property, NOT hers! When I asked her about it she said that she'd thought they were "just weeds." It's so warm and sunny today -- the high will be 72 degrees. I went out and looked at all my plants, or what's left of them, and saw that my Black-eyed Susan plants still have green leaves on them. I'd thought they were dead forever after last year, but when I Googled for information I found out that Black-eyed Susans are perennials. Cool.
