It's the end of a decade for me.  Sunday the 1st is my last shift at Bay St. Video.  It's been great there and I'll miss it, but it's also kind of exciting.  From that point on I'll be able to work at CAMH on Tuesdays, which means I'll have Friday, Saturday and Sundays off.  Of course I have the job writing fact sheets for Rainbow Health Ontario, ( Read more... )

For the first time ever I kind of feel like skipping Pride Weekend.  I still want to go to the dyke march, but there doesn't seem to be a brunch happening this year, which was always my favourite part of the weekend.  Yet I understand what an enormous task these things are to organize, and I can't blame people for not wanting to do it forever.

Farewell party for a coworker last night.  Free beer.  Bad hangover this morning/day/afternoon.  Despite feeling like something stuck to the bottom of a shoe I managed to take in the clothing swap, score some nice duds for fall, do the laundry, review an article for the Journal of Homosexuality, and get kitty litter and food and books in weather ( Read more... )

I ate breakfast yesterday.  That's where it all started to go wrong.  Maybe the tofu was bad, or the hash browns.  But I had cramps all day which culminated in severe sickness that hit suddenly at 7p.m. (while I was at work) and didn't let up until 11 p.m., when I crawled into bed.  On the up side, it may have helped break me of the habit of eating ( Read more... )

I am feeling so much better.  One of the reasons is that I'm less sick.  I'm only vaguely sore and a little stuffy.  I'm back to sleeping my regular 9.5 hours a night instead of needing 14 or more.

I'm also feeling good because I have finished writing my proposal for the AAR and it doesn't suck.  I'm trying for a second, but not getting my hopes  ( Read more... )

While filling in for a coworker I have suddenly become ill.  My face was like a faucet yesterday.  One of those old faucets that makes sudden explosive bursts of water and just trickles pointlessly when you try to shut it off.  I'm also feverish and sore in body and throat.  I was also a little queasy, but that could be from all the sinus pills I ( Read more... )

I'm fighting sickness and not being successful yet.  I'm dizzy, spacey, confused, clumsy, and other names for rejected Disney dwarves.  It's kind of like being high, with fewer pleasant side effects.  I've missed out on two social events I was really looking forward to.  But if I don't power sleep I'll never beat it in time for work.

 As you may recall, I got the anonymous reviews back on my article for the Journal of Bisexuality.  Firmly clenching the new assholes I've been ripped, I'm now working on editing the piece to something that doesn't suck and is under 25 pages.  I've got until the end of the month, which realistically means about 7 hours of writing time, since I work ( Read more... )
