Bloody hell it's cold.

So last week wasn't as bad as I feared, though I was pretty exhausted. We spent Saturday afternoon/evening up at Tattersalls and got thoroughly rained upon, but we did get our swanky jackets and hats with our stallion's name on them, so we donned them all week so our mere presence was advertising.

Ughhhhh I'm on Day 3 of a migraine, and it needs to fuck off because I have to spend five of the next seven days in Newmarket looking at horses in the cold.

Migraines also cause me to shovel carbs into my face like I'm starving, because a) migraines cause food cravings, and b) apparently my stomach and brain don't communicate when I'm migraining. ( Read more... )

My sleep is fuuuuuucked and it's driving me slightly nuts. I wake every half an hour, just enough to disrupt my deep or REM sleep. I reckon it's POTS, but can I get my GP to consider a diagnosis? Nope, just prescribe more sleeping tablets!

We went to the races on Saturday! We've not been to the Rowley Mile since October 2019, so it was quite cool to be back. I was a bit like 'O_O MANY PEOPLE' at first, but it was actually not that busy for the Cambridgeshire meeting on a Saturday and I did settle into things after a bit.

Went to see Mum and Dad and Grandad on Saturday.

A few years ago they moved to the middle of nowhere in Norfolk, and I bloody hate driving there. It's a 2hr drive, and it involves a roundabout that I am pretty sure is the work of Satan, plus a horrible ring road, and the inevitable 'which route is Google going to use to take me home today?' I quite enjoyed watching a bit of the Olympics. I missed lots of it, courtesy of work and time zones, but what I did see, I generally enjoyed. Well, that was a lovely week and long weekend.

G treated me to a night away in a fancy hotel on the river for my birthday, and in the evening there we had an amazing 7-course tasting menu. We were so full it was ridiculous. But stunning food. Who knew pea mousse was not only a thing, but that it was delicious?!
