Migraines, diets, and further adventures in my joints hating me

Ughhhhh I'm on Day 3 of a migraine, and it needs to fuck off because I have to spend five of the next seven days in Newmarket looking at horses in the cold.

Migraines also cause me to shovel carbs into my face like I'm starving, because a) migraines cause food cravings, and b) apparently my stomach and brain don't communicate when I'm migraining. I well and truly broke the diet yesterday.

But that may not be a bad thing. While I'm nearly at a stone and a half weight loss after 10 weeks on the diet, apparently hair loss is super common on very low calorie diets (VLCDs). I've always been a shedder - anyone who has ever lived with me knows I'm famous for killing vacuum cleaners - but when I wash my hair I am shedding a LOT more hair than normal, and while I'm in no risk of going bald any time soon with all my hair, it IS alarming. I still have at least another stone to lose before I have a BMI that I can shove under my doctor's nose and go 'NOW WILL YOU FUCKING ACTUALLY CONSIDER THAT NOT EVERYTHING IS DO WITH WEIGHT?!' so I'm a bit perplexed. The diet I'm on claims to include all your required vitamins and minerals, and I already take vitamin D and iron supplements on doctors' orders, and I started taking a biotin supplement when I started the diet, so other than increasing my calories I'm not sure what else I can do. And I don't WANT to increase my calories - not every day. I have no problem having days when I'm over, but my job means I just don't burn enough calories to remain in deficit if I go over every day. Sigh.

My joints are disliking the cold - and obviously a migraine tends to be coupled with a flare-up, so I'm subluxing all over the place. Hyperextended my elbow carrying groceries earlier this week, so needless to say that's still sore, and something in my shoulder is pissed off with me.

Which all means that the next week is going to be ultimately exhausting. It's the December Mares Sale at Tattersalls, and while we've already bought one mare this year, we got her so cheap we'd be foolish not to keep an eye out for another bargain, so we'll be going to view quite a few mares. We're also popping along to the last day of the Foal Sales to meet up with some acquaintances (and get our Roseman swag! I want a bobble hat with the name of our stallion on it!), and will head to a few of the stallion showings to find a match for Cape Liberty.

I'm tired just thinking about it.
