So October is over ... and with it the majority of my traveling for the year. I have another short one week of travel coming up in December (Manchester, NH and Hartford, CT), and there's the possibility of an on-site being added in December as well, but so far November is staying clear of travel. If Tuesday was The Day Of Writing Procrastination, Wednesday was the complete opposite. Between writing on breaks and lunch at work, going to a NaNoWriMo write-in in Ledgewood and doing word-sprints/wars (choose your personal term) and then coming home and doing another sprint with the NaNo gang and then a final push on my own .... I've had intermittent internet connection problems at home (we've narrowed it down -- it is not the modem, nor is it the ethernet cable, which means it must be the laptop, but the question is: is it the drivers, or the actual port where the ethernet cable connects? and will just switching to wireless at home (finally!) solve the problem?) and ( Read more... )

So I once again slept through all of today. There were a few times I opened my eyes, looked at the clock, thought "I should get out of bed," and then rolled back over. Work stuff has settled down slightly. Anticipated schedule additions have either failed to come through on the clients' ends or have been shunted off to someone else once my boss pointed out to higher-ups that from mid-October to early-December, I'm on the road part or all of 7 out of 8 weeks and there might be a melt-down imminent if something ( Read more... )

I decided to make one last big push for NaNoWriMo tonight, even though I'd essentially given up on it even before the holiday weekend. I did join a batch of other North Jersey WriMoes at the Panera Bread in Ledgewood last night. Got there around 6:45, left around 8:45, and wrote a little over 1,000 words. Also had lots of laughs.
