We've spent the last several days in our old stomping grounds down here in Columbus.  We came down for a wedding but we extended our stay a few days to make this our anniversary trip, so we arrived on Thursday and will be heading home tomorrow.  It's been a good trip -- we got to see lots of church people at the wedding and this morning, and we've ( Read more... )

 A few weeks ago our pastor preached an excellent sermon about the importance of keeping a Sabbath day -- not necessarily Sunday, but just one 24 hour period where you don't do your regular work, but instead take the time to relax, recharge, and reconnect.  We're not very good at that, but today we managed to pull it off pretty well.

We did end up getting the ice/snow/ice/snow combination that walloped everyone else this past week.  Lucas had snow days on Tuesday and Wednesday, which was unexpected (they rarely close campuses).  It totally threw off my schedule and my productivity, but it was very nice to have him near for so long.  We also managed, through some semi-epic ( Read more... )
