The county's doing another
bike/ped traffic count today 12:00-14:00. They did them 2 months ago (and
I participated), and I guess they'll be doing another set in September, in line with the national survey dates. (They'll certainly have the process of identifying sites, finding and training volunteers, and processing the data down pat by then.) On the way home from that I'm going to pick up a little
Freecycle item, some HO train track. (I'm not going to use it any time soon, but its owner doesn't want it, and it can go into a box of identical track here.)
After that I may fire up the grill.
anniemal bought a lot of chicken yesterday. Or I may put that off until tomorrow, because there's already a lot of leftovers in the fridge too.
The other project for the afternoon is getting more photos uploaded (again; the
site lost them all back in January). I hope to get all of 2008 uploaded this weekend, and maybe get caught up with 2009 too. Once the photos are back I can go through my
icons and fix all those links, and then go through my past journal entries and fix those links too. (I've really missed having the photos out there so I can use them in journal entries.)
Yesterday I started to replace our dead receiver with a hand-me-down from Freecycle, but I decided to turn the old one on first, and it's working again. (I wonder where the remote's gotten to?) I don't know how long it's going to keep working, but there's no reason to swap them at the moment.
John Campbell Maybe fireworks tonight. Not going seems really lame. (Surprisingly, I don't have a non-cynical flag icon. I'll have to do something about that.)
Aphelion went by several hours ago, but happy Independence Day to those of you in the U.S., and Philippine-American Friendship Day, Garibaldi Day in Italy, and Fighter's Day in Yugoslavia. It's Flag Day in Alaska and Hawaii (although most Alaskans are probably celebrating Governor Palin's announcement to resign).I ended up watching the
local (Marymount?) fireworks from the roof. Not the best view, but more convenient than going anywhere. (The new roof is less slippery, so I could go up to the ridge to see better over the trees.) There were sounds of fireworks from all directions, but not much to see other than the nearest.
