Most of my mini-updates have been going to Twitter and Facebook, so it's about time I settle in for a proper update here.

Summer ended amenably enough, with three-odd weeks off school. David was in the Netherlands so Hilary did a lot of nothing around the house and went to Cape Cod for a week with her parents, which was beautiful and amazing. ( Read more... )

It looks like I will unexpectedly be in Harrisburg tomorrow to take a Civil Service test. I tried to schedule for Philadelphia but they were booked until December (?!?!!). I have an interview on the 7th. Please for the love of any- and everything, think good thoughts for me, light a candle, say a prayer, whatever mojo or juju you happen to do. I need this job SO BADLY right now with all the shit that is going on. The salary is good, the hours are good, the benefits are good, it's relatively close.

Employer is appealing unemployment. Will probably have hearing which I am almost guaranteed to lose. After they said they wouldn't appeal.

Fuck.

I have no way of paying anyone back because I am *gasp* unemployed.

And still no jobs on the horizon.

This must be what utter desperation feels like.
