On The Hunt for a Job (Still)
It looks like I will unexpectedly be in Harrisburg tomorrow to take a Civil Service test. I tried to schedule for Philadelphia but they were booked until December (?!?!!). There was ONE opening for testing in Harrisburg tomorrow so I'll be going there to take one exam. I scheduled the other one for their next opening in November (the 17th) and I have two more 'Kinda Maybe' job tests scheduled in Philly in December.
The interview at Grandview today went well, I guess. I get the impression yet again that there are a LOT of candidates competing for only two positions. If I make it through this round of the process I'll be called back to interview with the department head for the unit and they will make the final choice. I'm supposed to hear yea or nay on this round by the end of next week.
In the meantime, I'll just keep looking.
ETA: I'm also trying to decide if I want to apply for a part-time gig teaching art at a state prison. Talk about an eclectic career choice. I'd probably end up getting a paintbrush-shiv in the kidneys, though.
