Today "J" and I explained a little about Memorial Day to "T", on the traditional date, instead of the Monday three-day holiday date.

This morning I took "J" to her gardening volunteer group. While she started, she sent me to Staples to print some materials, but the instructions were unclear so I didn't print everything she wanted. Oops.

This morning, "J" and I took a bunch of garden supplies to her gardening volunteer project. Everything was light enough for easy hand carrying.
I bought another piece of wood for my craft project, and some sage for J.

April 23
Today we had more errands. I got a piece of corner trim for a craft project, and "J" got some potting soil for her gardening volunteer group, and we delivered the soil.
The wheelbarrow (for the potting soil) had a flat tire, but we just happened to have a bicycle pump in the car. I pumped it up - and found that the tire had a fast leak. ( Read more... )

This morning, "J" sent me on errands. The one that I understood to be the highest priority was to go to Sky Nursery for a certain variety of native roses. The shopping expedition was a bit of a challenge, because I wasn't clear on what variety she meant. But the people at the store were very helpful, and we managed to find the correct variety.

Early this morning, I took "J" to a place called City Soil for a gardening conference. She enjoyed it a lot.
I stopped at a fuel station to look up a good place to hang out while I waited, then went to a Starbucks. It was crowded and noisy, but it had a counter with a stool and power outlet, so I was able to work.

I did a lot of art, and mostly finished a drawing.
"T" was sick and had to come home from school early again. We called in sick on his karate lesson.
"J" did some gardening.
I hosted tonight's Monday evening on-line get-together. We had fun.

I did a little work on the structure today. The first task was to reposition the tarp that's been serving as its roof throughout the rainy season, and to clear out the standing water that had come in through spots where one of the tarps is getting threadbare.

This morning, "T" had his second day of school. Again we used the school's new curbside drop-off procedure, which went smoothly. We ran a post office errand before heading home; "J" said that there was no one else in the lobby.

Today I cut the baseboards for the downstairs closet to length, so that they should fit nicely in the closet. I also painted them with a few coats, since the stuff they're made of seems to demand paint, even if it's the same color as the original material.
