Today "J" and I went to her parents' house for a family gathering, celebrating her father's 80th birthday a bit in advance. Her sister "C", sister's husband "M", and their son and daughter "T" and "T" were visiting too; I hadn't seen them in a while, particularly T. It was nice seeing them after so long.

Wednesday July 31
This afternoon, "J" and I met her parents at a restaurant, York River Landing. It's pretty nice; we've been here before. I had yummy fish and chips.
J and her father competed to pick up the tab, reminiscent of when my father and grandfather did much the same.

Sunday June 9
This afternoon I visited "D", who had a gift for me and "J", a book. We ended up talking for quite a while.
Next, I went to a library. I noticed a sign about an attempted ransomware attack on the Seattle Public Library system. Its computer people had blocked the attack before it caused major damage, but they shut the network down to ( Read more... )

This morning at 10 am, we arrived at the port of Manzanillo.

Today I took "J" to his usual Sunday appointment. I think it went quite well.
During the appointment, I bought groceries, including pastries that duplicated some I had forgotten I had bought. They'll still be good.

This morning I took "T" Saturday group class. He enjoyed it.
In the evening I visited my parents - not for all that long, but long enough to share some smiles.

Today we took "T" to his usual Monday appointment. Afterwards we had brunch at our favorite diner.
Later, I took T to his karate private lesson and group class.
Between the karate classes, we went to the assisted living apartment where my mother is recovering from her fall, for a short visit. She was thrilled to see me, and particularly to see T

Today "J" and I went out together with "T" on lots of errands.
First up was taking T to his usual Sunday appointment. We bought some groceries while we waited.
Next, we went to a Home Depot near the Sunday appointment location, for some home repair supplies. (Will we actually do the repairs? Stay tuned!)

Today is Thanksgiving. My brother and his wife hosted. My mother cooked the turkey and pumpkin pie. My father did a lot of organizing. "J" and "T" and I made a green bean casserole. It was a fine feast.
It was also a very nice family gathering. Everyone was in a good mood throughout.
