April 2
This morning at 10 am, we arrived at the port of Manzanillo.
I took "
T" ashore, and we did a little shopping. I couldn't find dental floss. (The box of it we had packed had less than one flossing worth left.) I told him that if we could find Spanish language Pokémon I'd buy a pack for him, but we didn't see that. But on the pier on the way back, he found a crochet Pokémon character, really well made. And after I paid, the guy next to the woman selling it (maybe her husband) offered a woodburning Pikachu - and personalized it for T. That was really generous; maybe because we didn't haggle the price of the crochet artwork, they figured they owed us a favor.
This evening at 6 pm we departed from the port of Manzanillo.
This evening the conversation at the S&Ttour group's cocktail party was great. Dinner conversation was merely OK.
Back home
Today is my brother's birthday. We sent him a gift by way of my parents before we left for this trip.
Update: when we got home we learned that he really enjoyed the silly packing job on the gift. But he barely remembered the gifts themselves, two miniature painting canvases, and said that they were too small for him to work with, given his vision, which is still recovering from cataract surgery.
