Just a quick note for now, as it's been a hell of a week. Got admitted to the hospital last Friday for severe pre-eclampsia, followed by a four day failed induction of labor, ending in a c-section. Just got out of the hospital today and am beyond exhausted. But! The good part:
Quentin Elliott arrived at 8:46 am on May 11th. 6lbs, 6 oz.

Things and stuff.
- Feeling all jealous of my peeps at Penguicon. Granted, I'd probably sleep through the whole thing if I tried to go, but still.
- Today was my last day of work for the next 14 weeks. It feels weird.
- But v. glad it was last day of work, since I am definitely sick and utterly exhausted. Now coughing up phlegm. Extra not fun at 9 months ( Read more... )

I should not be more excited that having the baby means I will never have to set foot in the OB clinic again than you know, actually having the baby. Nor should I have to (politely) completely lose my shit to get answers and a consistent standard of care that is based on my actual health and situation and not ACoG standards and recommendations ( Read more... ) -

Have been quiet due to dealing with the fallout some complications which risked me out of midwife care and into the wonderful world of high risk obstetrics. The state of the me
So I found out through the local gluten-free grapevine that our local Great Harvest Bread Company was doing a GF bake , and unable to resist the lure of potential fresh-baked bread-tasting bread, I signed up for a $9.75 loaf. AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT OMG. Seriously. I haven't had bread that tasted good, let alone marginally edible in almost a year ( Read more... ) -

So somewhere between 3:30 and 4:30 today, my keys (including car, house and work) went missing, and remain missing, despite multiple people turning all areas of our office upside down. Nausea has receded to occasional levels (though I spent ten minutes this morning dry heaving), still no appetite, but at least not really losing more weight. Ensure is my new best friend.
