I am still writing occasionally. Really.
THE
FANFICTION LOVE MEME
17 weeks in as of today, and I'm finally starting to feel better. Nausea has receded to occasional levels (though I spent ten minutes this morning dry heaving), still no appetite, but at least not really losing more weight. Ensure is my new best friend. Have felt the occasional weird little flutter. Way more tired now than first trimester. Napping is my new hobby.
We go in two weeks for the anatomy scan, and if kid is cooperative, will find out whether boy or girl as an early Christmas present. Have also started plotting nursery theme, which will be the same either way - OUTER SPACE! And ROBOTS! Unfortunately, to achieve this plan, I need to finish cleaning out the room in question, which has become my junk-dump for the last five years.
I'm only slightly partial toward girl, and really only because my mom brought a bunch of my old baby clothes when she came for thanksgiving, and they are hilariously and charmingly 70s retro and I so want to torture my own child with them use them.
Have also been playing around with registry stuff, which is fun, though I am alternately amused and appalled at the sheer amount of useless crap on the "recommended items" lists on some of the baby sites, and how much it costs. Yeesh. Our biggest item is going to be the stroller/carseat travel system, because we had to find a stroller with a good adjustable handle so it's comfortable for someone 5'1" and someone 6'4" to maneuver.
Media/fannishly, I am geeked for the upcoming new RDJ Sherlock Holmes and the rumors that the IM2 trailer will be attached to it. Saw New Moon with A, my friend/coworker, and we snickered helplessly through the whole thing. Well worth the cash. Still utterly bored by new V, still watching Glee like it's a trainwreck I can't look away from, still utterly in love with Castle. Oh, and new Closer soon! And Leverage comes back soon, too, I think!
Have been reading a little fic her and there, and greatly enjoyed
penknife's
Fantasy Life. (Jack/Sam (with implied past Jack/Daniel), rated NC-17. Contains mild BDSM). I really liked how comfortable and easy the relationship was between them, and how Jack's past with Daniel fit in as just something that's part of their lives, with no angst or drama or recriminations.
