I've been reading a lot of metafandom  in the last day or so.  Lots of interesting stuff in there, but a couple of things in particular caught my attention.

It might be a function of when I posted my last chapter, but I hit a new personal best for hits on ff.net yesterday. The hit/visitor ratio was really good, too.  People are reading Absolution's Price even if they don't have much to say about it. Three good things:

1.  I cleared my beta queue a couple of weeks ago for the first time in, like, a year.

2.  I finished Pomp and Circumstance!  Only a year after resolving to do it ASAP!

3.  With finishing Pomp, I have posted all available fic to saltwater_ink .  So I guess this means I can declare this my grand opening of saltwater_ink  a full year-plus after opening the ( Read more... )

I keep trying to finish this Neville/Pansy but whenever I try to get them together, this comic pops into my head.  Thanks alot for ruining my fic, xkcd!  I guess that it's time to finish Pomp and Circumstance, then; at least they're already together there.

So I've been reading e-books on my eeePC over the last month and fell in love with my e-reader program (FBreader) and .mobi files.  The program's so lightweight and opens the last book I was reading and opens to the page I was reading last!  And I have a progress bar at the bottom!  I'm wary of Kindles and their ilk for a couple of reasons so far ( Read more... )

A few days ago I both watched and read Watchmen (long story; multiple flights).  I found it to be flawed yet compelling and enjoyed the universe and the themes it built up.  Was it wrong of me to start crushing on the actor playing Danny (Patrick Wilson)?  I thought he did a wonderful job.
