I left Steamboat yesterday under cloudy and snowy skies yesterday morning. Another good day. This whole temperature inversion that I've been talking about? This morning was another example. I had to go to the Ski House a few miles away to pick up a new pair of goggles. When I got in the truck at 0800, it was 6°F. When I drove down into the village just a few hundred feet down into the valley, it became -4°F. Yeah, ( Read more... )

Got out earlier this morning and got a full day in this time. By 4:00pm, I was done. Actually rode the gondola back down the mountain instead of riding down. In the afternoon the trails start to get icy and with my rubbery legs that was an ugly accident waiting to happen ( Read more... )

Got off to a late start today and there was a substantial discount if I waited until noon to start snowboarding. Was on the mountain from noon until 3:30pm. At that point my leg muscles were very sore and more like jello. I could do no more so I headed in ( Read more... )
