I have a job :)

I'm going to be leaving 'Dirty Dancing' early to join 'Lend Me a Tenor' at the Gielgud. I phoned work and they're letting me skip the four weeks notice and are allowing me to leave on the 28th May, which means that the Aldwych are doubly awesome and fantastic. I got my Christmas schedule today, the period officially known as "Steph Goes a Little Stir Crazy" is drawing closer. I may got a little bit crazier than usual this year as instead of the tube network I have to deal with Southeastern Trains... which actually means I'll be getting the bus as I can't honestly imagine trains running on Christmas Eve ( Read more... )

After the deaths of Olive Postgate and Bette Page earlier this week we were saying at work that these things seem to come in threes... sadly I heard on the radio this morning that Kathy Staff has died :(. So today was the first outing for the new cast (well sorta, the new baby can't do the lift so has been temporary replaced by her understudy) and it was embarrassingly bad (particularly as kathie_d and her friend were in the audience). Just finished reading 'The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters' by G.W Dahlquist. Exquisite! A wonderful page turner with not only a great mystery at it's core but some brilliant characters, I particularly liked Dr Svenson and deliciously evil Contessa. The language is crafted to evoke feelings of Conan Doyle, Dickens and a definite feel of the 19th ( Read more... )

I've been doing things solo since Thursday, the shut down has been the scariest part as I have to remember to switch things off. I do have a cheat sheet but I can't really take it all over the building with me as I go "okay... now OP flys..." and try to remember which things to switch off. Great fun though! On this very lovely day you'll be thrilled to hear that I spent 98% of today inside cleaning the crystals on a chandelier.
