I slept until 5:45 PM today. I'm not really sure how I pulled that one off. I woke up, looked at the clock in horror, realized I only had fifteen minutes to go pick Rebecca up from work, and I didn't even know how the roads were. I am counting down to my vacation in Asheville, NC now. I have off of work today and tomorrow. I work Saturday and have off again Sunday and Monday. Then I work every day until my vacay. I bought a new leather coat last night, and not a moment too soon. It is frigid and snowing, and before this purchase, I did not have a coat. I was wearing my Cirque du Soleil hoodie every day. I switched shifts with a co-worker who had a doctor's appointment (she worked for me on Sunday, I work for her this Saturday), and as a result, I had the entire weekend to relax. On Friday, I planned to leave work and go to Rebecca's for the weekend. When I pulled out of the parking lot after my shift, my "check engine" light came on. It seems as if the decision not to go to Falcon Ridge was a good one. I received a brochure in the mail about the GIA Career Fair in New York City that weekend. Some of the biggest names in the industry will be there (like Tiffany & Co., Christie's Auction House, DeBeers, etc). And they're having pannels and one-on-one career coaching and such.
