Today is Lucas's last day of being 6-years-old. You have never seen a child so excited about a birthday as he is right now. I hope it's everything he wants it to be, though I don't really know what he is expecting. We are doing our best to make it special for him. I suspect it will be enough.

Asher has a favorite color, it seems: yellow, pronounced “LELL-oh.” The other colors he seems to like best are pink and purple.

Asher has become attached to a yellow sponge-the kind you would clean your kitchen with. Weird.

Asher’s favorite animal seems to be the hippopotamus. “HEEP-ohs!”
