Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson is a fascinating entry into the well-trod lore of "epic fantasy." Book 1 of a trilogy, Mistborn's size initially makes it intimidating but it's a deceptively fast read.

Anyone looking for a unique system of magic? Mistborn has it.

After a few years of being scale-less, my mom went out and bought a scale for our bathroom. Finished "Eragon" today. I think the author of this article was overrating the book though. It's good enough for a light fantasy reader like me but Christopher Paolini is definately not Tolkien.
