My new netbook ("Nettie") so far performs very well. I can't figure out how to change the desktop background (there isn't an option in the usual places) but that's a pretty minor complaint. I'm starting to think that I can't because it only came with "Windows 7 Starter", which is kind of lame that you can't change something so basic. But whatever. ( Read more... )

Well enough is enough. I've stayed with my 512 MB of RAM since I got this laptop and I've been nice to it too. No spyware clogging up the registry, no random applications to slow things down, but it is SLOW. Makes simple things like opening up Word a trip in patience. Will it open today? Nope! Just kidding! I have a blender! Yay! This may not be exciting enough to some of you to merit a celebration, but it is to me. I have a slowly dwindling list of the necessary appliances and things I'll need for when I move out on my own... hopefully sometime soon.
