The Parthenon replica was built in Nashville for the Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition of 1897. The city's nickname was "Athens of the South" so they decided to build a Parthenon with a big-ass Athena housed inside. Mom and I did go to Ren Fest today. We had a good time, it was a lovely day, even if the traffic was hell. (The RenFest and the Speedway are pretty much right next to each other. And it was a NASCAR race weekend.) There was lots of good music, good food, and pretty, shiny things.

I had to make my own snow day today. It's something I still feel horrible about, since I know tons of people must of called out of work. But a) I don't have a car and b) the roads weren't clear enough to drive on, much less walk on for 1.5 miles until the time after I'd get off of work.
