The Parthenon replica was built in Nashville for the Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition of 1897. The city's nickname was "Athens of the South" so they decided to build a Parthenon with a big-ass Athena housed inside. Mom and I did go to Ren Fest today. We had a good time, it was a lovely day, even if the traffic was hell. (The RenFest and the Speedway are pretty much right next to each other. And it was a NASCAR race weekend.) There was lots of good music, good food, and pretty, shiny things.

I may have re-watched Black Hawk Down last night just for Tom Hardy and his adorable crooked teeth and attempts at an American accent. (His first scene sounds Southern-like, then he starts sounding like, I don't know, the cast of Goodfellas.
