I’m 19 floors up here in my office, and a little starling has decided that the ledge of my floor-to-ceiling window is his new favorite perch.  I’m fairly sound insulated up here, but since the metal ledge runs both inside and out, I can here his little feet go “taptaptaptaptap” as he trots back and forth.  He’s been hanging out most of the week now ( Read more... )

The Project That Never Ends at work is continuing to Not End some more - our last phase of testing just got pushed back by another two weeks.  I would be fairly put out by this, but at the same time as that bit of news, I was also handed the lead for a new project, yay!  I’m ready for something new.

I bought kayaks this weekend.  We got a Necky Manitou and a Old Town Cayuga - they’re both about 13 feet, which puts them in the “single day touring” category, but still pretty close to recreational length.  Their size means that they can be used in still water, gentle rapids, or costal ocean conditions.  They’re very versatile and durable, and I ( Read more... )
