2012's almost over!
Here's what was newly worn in 2012~
Oh dear. I just looked up my previous cos reviews and I was quite specific. I won't be going into quite so much detail. Suffice to say, I rewore a lot of things.
Jo Grant - Doctor Who
My only new costume at this year's Gallifrey,
I had a blast!. I plan on tweaking the dress (making it less bell shape and take in the waist a bit) and wearing it again for next Gally.
Tintin - The Adventures of Tintin
silvernaofficer suggested this one and
it was so much fuuuun. I'm on the lookout for a better sweater hopefully in a winter sale for future wearings :D
Cassie - Young Avengers, Marvel Fairy Tales
I have all of one photo of this (in the WonderCon report above)), so I'd like to wear it again sometime, and actually finish the wings. Also this was my first experience with people asking for only my picture and totally ignoring the group :/ It was very strange. You can't see in the picture, but the dress is quite short in the front. So yes, it was one of those situations.
Gingetsu - Clover
I've wanted to do Clover for yeeeeears. Technically this isn't 100%, but was so happy to have done it finally. I'd really like a Ran to go with me... volunteers?
Regency ball gown - Historical
I bought this fabric to make a suit, and what a lovely suit it would have made. But really, where would I have worn such a thing. So it was perfect to wear to my first Costume College. Which was fabulous! I never posted about it since I left two weeks later for Europe, but Aimee
has a nice album here.
1912 dress - Historical
Made this for the 100 year anniversary of Titanic's sinking. I had intended on going to a dinner put on by the GBACG buuut I missed buying my ticket 8D Whoops.
My report and photos here. (Also, I now see this is slightly out of order, since I made this for April).
The Master - Doctor Who, The End of Time
Actually I hate this outfit and The Master in it, but my hair being platinum blonde... I felt it necessary 8D And then Oscar took such fantastic photos! So it ended up being a lot of fun.
Photos here! Regency country dress - Historical
Made this green & white dress in 2011 or 2010, it's actually the mockup for seeing if a dress would fit both myself and
mognetcentral. It won't :/ (But I think a bib front draw string style would suit!).
Doris took some lovely photos of our garden outing here. Victorian 1865 Gentleman - Historical
I made this frock coat based on historical patterns, and I'd forgotten how much I love making jackets 8D All the underclothes are actually my Professor Yana clothes with a different cravat (but made from the same fabric as Yana's tie), and I used my Rassilon pin as my cravat pin (which made me feel very fancy). My camera was dead so I took no photos, but
here are Doris'.
The Doctor - Doctor Who, Scream of the Shalka
I actually made this when I made my Shalka Master, but I wore it for the first time
earlier this month. Aaah that was a mouthful (pageful?).
What to expect in 2013!
More historical!
Menswear! Sportswear! I want it all.
I recently saw
An Ideal Husband and basically adore everything Cate Blanchett wore, especially the the blue dress at the end, so I'd like to make something similar.
Mmm... making Survival Master for Gallifrey, excited about that since Ainley is the only Master I haven't made (excluding Pratt/Beevers, since.. uh, I probably won't ever do those).
Oh and I'm doing some stuff that has been on my anime/manga to do wishlist for years, excited about that as well since I do still love those series, even if I don't know anything remotely new.
