New monitor arrived yesterday! :) After some dithering we decided on Tuesday that we'd just bloody order some monitors. Went for the best-selling one on amazon - Samsung SyncMaster P2450, 24" monitor that does 1920x1080 and had reasonable reviews. We've mostly decided we need to replace the oven, and get new monitors. The oven is coz the grill doesn't work (and hasn't worked in the nearly 9 years we've lived here), the door doesn't shut entirely properly, the internal light has never worked, and the whole thing must be about 15 years old, coz it sure wasn't new when we moved in. We've had snow this week! Thought at the start of the week that we were going to escape, most of the rest of the country got a lot and we had a mere sprinkling just enough to make the grass a little white when it wasn't under the trees. Sainsburys here have just had all their tills replaced, and have put in some self-service ones. Which I'm generally in favour of - for instance the ones in Boots are great and you rarely have to queue for them, unlike the staffed tills. We had to go into town on Saturday - in search of ski stuff for J, as the stag do he's going to in a couple of weeks is at the snow dome place in Milton Keynes (well, the afternoon bit of the stag do is ...). Bumped into Imke on my way home from town yesterday - she was our landlady the first place we lived in Ipswich, we lived in a granny flat on the side of their house so saw them quite a bit.
