I have mentioned this before, but one of the things I did not expect before moving here, but have come to cherish, are the way the sky looks here in winter. Especially at dawn and dusk. It is beautiful and it suits me.

I potted up several plants today. A straggling pineapple sage that was meant to be in a pot outside (said pot bought just for that purpose). I brought it in to resuscitate it and ever since it's been living on a kitchen windowsill with only indirect light, the poor baby ( Read more... )

Good morning!

I finally got a decent picture of Jordan the rat. This is him, chewing on my thumbnail. I don't know what his fascination is with fingernails, but he likes to nibble on them when I let him.

Jordan is feeling better much of the time. The antibiotic he is on makes him feel icky, but he seems to be acclimating to it and I try to time the doses to his natural "down" times. The painkiller clearly helps - he's back to gnawing on things, and even occasionally eating small amounts of crunchy food. We spend lots of playtime together, during ( Read more... )
