• Day 1 of cashiering: Seven hours of computer training, then one watching someone on a real register.

Why do I panic every time I hear someone coming down the stairs that lead to my apartment? As soon as I hear that door open, I mute my computer and sit very, very still until they go away. Usually it's just the upstairs neighbor coming to use the laundry room, so I'm not sure why I have this kind of reaction.

My days have been rather strange lately. First we have five days a week which completely wear me down to Pi-shaped jello but at least provide me with some form of social behavior. I'm very glad I decided to clean up every part of my house now, as my stepdad ended up being in it far longer than I expected. It was apparently clean enough to his satisfaction, as he made no remark on that. He did say that it was getting a cat smell to it, which I'm going to take to be true, as I have no sense of smell. Will work on that.
